The purpose of this course is two-fold. It is an education course and it is also a practical assessment of the students’ teaching skills and their understanding of the Gyrokinesis Level I curriculum. To successfully complete this course, apprentices must physically execute and demonstrate the exercises and principles from the Gyrokinesis Level I Foundation Course syllabus. Additionally, apprentices must apply the appropriate verbal cues and physical guidance to a moving person according to the Gyrokinesis Level I Foundation Course manual. Upon successfully completing the Gyrokinesis Level I Certificate Course, students are considered Certified Gyrokinesis Trainers. Gyrokinesis Trainers are required to meet continuing education requirements and renew their certification, and trademark license every two years. After successful completion of the Gyrokinesis Level I Teacher Training Program, students are eligible to enroll in Gyrokinesis specialized courses.

This course will include gestation and anatomy, changes during pregnancy, benefits from exercising, and the application of Gyrotonic principles to the three trimesters and the postpartum phase.

Juliu's Wrapping System uses cloth wraps that are tied around the pelvis, torso, arms, or legs to help engage the body in movement. Juliu developed a way to tie wraps around the body that give you the simultaneous feelings of openness and freedom along with deep connection and power.

If you have ever felt tight or restricted as a result of trying to gain more strength and connection in your body, you will find that the wraps do not restrict the body. Instead they help to connect the internal energetic junctions to generate power from within leaving you feeling agile and free in the body. The work of balancing the body is now easier to accomplish.

This course focuses on three things:

• Developing your ability to ‘see’ your client. In the course, we will do case studies with some of the students to practice seeing the different issues that may arise in your clients. You will learn how to pinpoint and address these issues using the GYROTONIC® system and the wraps.

• Learning sequences with standing work that are accessible to beginning clients as well as more advanced clients.

• Feeling what the wraps do to your body in movement. You will learn how to translate that information to your client’s workout and use the wraps for cuing.

This course will incorporate some of Juliu's original rarely used exercises as well as new material developed by Debra Rose.

You will receive an exercise list at the beginning of the course, and we will provide a set of wraps for your use.

You will also have the opportunity to purchase your own set of cloth wraps (one for the body and two for the limbs). In addition to the wraps, you will receive a bound manual that includes the exercise list, worksheets, a section on theory and concepts, as well as color pictures. This offer is only for students taking the course during the three-day duration of the course. The set costs $50 plus tax. Wraps can also be purchased after the course ends for $50 plus tax, but the color manual will no longer be available.
